This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Genesis has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in your vehicle, with the VIN shown above. Genesis is conducting a safety recall in the United States to address a condition with Anti-Lock Brake System (“ABS”) modules in certain model year 2019-2021 Genesis G90 vehicles produced for sale in the U.S. market.
The purpose of this letter is to explain what the recall is about and to keep you informed of Genesis’ recall implementation plan. We are currently making preparations to implement the safety recall remedy which when available, will be performed at no cost to you. We will send you another notification when the remedy is available.
You have received this notice because our records, which are based primarily on state registration and title data, indicate that you are the current owner.
What is the condition?
The subject vehicles are equipped with Anti-Lock Brake System (“ABS”) modules that could malfunction internally and cause an electrical short, potentially resulting in an engine compartment fire. An electrical short could result in significant overcurrent in the ABS module increasing the risk of an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.
What should you do in the interim?
We appreciate your patience. Genesis is currently making preparations to implement the recall remedy. You will receive a second notification letter when the remedy is available. In the interim, customers can continue driving these vehicles; however Genesis recommends parking these vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. If the Malfunction Indicator Light is illuminated in your vehicle, you should seek service at your Genesis retailer as soon as possible.

What should you do?
Please contact your nearest Genesis retailer to schedule the recall repair as soon as possible.
We recommend scheduling a service appointment to minimize inconvenience. You may arrange in advance for a Service Courtesy
vehicle using Service Valet should you require alternate transportation during the service period. The actual time required to perform
the repair is less than one hour, however your vehicle may be needed longer.
You can continue driving your vehicle; however Genesis recommends parking these vehicles outside and away from structures
until the recall remedy is completed.

Description: An electrical short in the hydraulic unit assembly may increase the risk of an engine compartment fire. This bulletin describes the procedure to install a replacement multi fuse.
Applicable Vehicles: Certain 2019-2021MY G70 (IK) vehicles produced from MAY 11, 2018 to AUG 24, 2020.

Dealer must perform this Recall Campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail delivery and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.
When a vehicle arrives at the Service Department, access Genesis Motor America’s “Warranty Vehicle Information Screen (VIS)” via WEBDCS to identify open Campaigns.

Note the AM/FM/SXM radio presets.

Open the trunk and remove contents to access the battery. Disconnect the negative battery terminal by loosening the nut (A).

Open the hood and remove the engine room fuse box upper cover and discard.
4.
Remove the multi fuse fixing nut (B).

Remove the multi fuse (C) by unlatching the locking tab (D) and pulling the fuse upward. Discard the multi fuse.

Install the new multi fuse (E) and torque the nut to specification.

Install the new upper cover and then close the hood.
Reinstall the negative battery terminal and torque the nut to specification.
Return the contents to the trunk and then close the trunk.
If necessary, set the AM/FM/SXM radio presets.
The procedure is now complete.
